چکیده

Introduction T2and diffusion-weighted imaging are useful as non-contrast-enhanced MRI techniques; however both are limited by low-resolution and blurring [1,2]. The Fast Acquisition Double Echo (FADE) sequence is a 3D steady-state sequence with two echoes per TR; spoiler gradients that separate the echoes provide diffusion weighting. FADE enables high-resolution T2and diffusion-weighting imaging in clinically feasible scan times [3]. The spoiler gradients encode all sources of motion, including molecular, physiological, and bulk motion, all of which are present for breast imaging.

High Resolution T2 Breast Imaging using FADE

Introduction High-resolution 3D imaging is useful for improving the specificity of breast MRI since morphological characteristics, such as spiculations and heterogeneity, vary with histology [1]. The specificity of breast MRI can be further improved by considering physiological information such as diffusion [2]. Unlike T1-weighted contrast-enhanced imaging, it is difficult to acquire high-resol...

MR-based and Optical Prospective Motion Correction for High Resolution DWI with RS-EPI

Introduction: Recently, multiple approaches have been proposed to perform motion correction for diffusion imaging using optical tracking with cameras [1,2] or using MR-based methods which perform real-time registration between volumes [3-5]. In this study, we demonstrate the application of and compare both optical and MR-based motion correction to high-resolution diffusion-weighted imaging usin...

Diffusion imaging with prospective motion correction and reacquisition.

A major source of artifacts in diffusion-weighted imaging is subject motion. Slow bulk subject motion causes misalignment of data when more than one average or diffusion gradient direction is acquired. Fast bulk subject motion can cause signal dropout artifacts in diffusion-weighted images and results in erroneous derived maps, e.g., fractional anisotropy maps. To address both types of artifact...

Real-time correction of rigid body motion-induced phase errors for diffusion-weighted steady-state free precession imaging.

PURPOSE Diffusion contrast in diffusion-weighted steady-state free precession magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is generated through the constructive addition of signal from many coherence pathways. Motion-induced phase causes destructive interference which results in loss of signal magnitude and diffusion contrast. In this work, a three-dimensional (3D) navigator-based real-time correction of t...

I-45: Advance MRI Sequences in Pelvic Endometriosis

Background: To assess MRI in diagnosing endometriotic lesions, emphasizing T2*weighted imaging efficacy. Materials and Methods: This prospective study of 48 females (22-38 years, average 29.6) clinically suspected of endometriosis from September 2009 to April 2012. MRI was performed with a 1.5 T imager (Siemens) with a body array coil. T1, T2 and T2* weighted (2D-FLASH) sequences were obtained ...
